The Solar Electricity Corporation of India (SECI) has launched a request for selection (RfS) for the development of up to 1.2 GW solar-wind hybrid projects in India.
The proposed projects consist of combined wind and solar technologies that will be connected to the interstate transmission system (ISTS). The latest development is the Tranche III of the ISTS program.
The projects will be built, owned, and operated by the selected developers with the energy produced to be sold to SECI under power purchase agreements (PPAs). SECI sets the maximum tariff for power produced at INR2.88 (US$0.041) per kWh.
Each of the projects must be at least 50 MW in generating capacity, and a maximum of 300 MW. The rated power capacity of solar technology must be at least 25% of the wind component and vice versa.
The deadline for the submission of the bid is on February 25, 2020, with the pre-bid meeting scheduled on January 28, 2020.
