Tata Motors Limited and Tata Power have signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for a 7 MW captive solar power project at its Pantnagar facility in Uttarakhand, India.
The installation is expected to produce 215 million units of electricity, which could prevent over 170,000 tons of carbon dioxide from being released into the air. This is the same as planting over 272,000 teak trees over a lifetime.
Tata Motors and Tata Power are both subsidiaries of the Indian conglomerate Tata Group.
