The Investment Commission of Taiwan has approved the planned investment by wpd for the development of 640 MW Yunlin offshore wind project.
The project consists of 80 wind turbines with an 8 MW capacity each. It features a 170 km of 66kV submarine cable and 40 monopiles and will be built 6 km off the coast of Yunlin County.
The project represents a total investment of TWD14.12 billion (US$455 million) of which TWD94 billion (US$2.979 billion) was obtained from 19 banks and three export credit agencies -- EKF of Denmark, Euler Hermes of Germany, Atradius of the Netherlands, BNP Paribas, Deutsche Bank, Societe Generale and others.
The project is expected to be completed by 2021.
