Sungrow has been commissioned to supply its inverters to Kazakhstan’s 100 MW Balkhash solar power project.
The 100 MW Balkhash project will be implemented by KAZ GREEN ENERGY LLC and built by local EPC TechnoGroupServices LLC in the Konyrat neighborhood of Balkhash city, Karaganda Region.
The station will occupy an area of 140 hectares, deploy 525/530W bifacial modules, and be brought online in two phases. The 50 MW phase one will be completed in October 2021 and the remaining 50 MW will be completed in June 2022.
Once operational, the project is expected to generate 170 GWh of electricity a year, enough to meet the electricity demand of 100,000 households and offset 170,000 tons of carbon dioxide annually.
