Suez has proposed to refinance an energy-from-waste (EfW) facility in Great Blakenham, located in Suffolk, eastern England. The facility was designed, built and is operated by Suez under a 25-year concession contract with the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).

The refinancing is projected to generate up to GBP10.4 million (US$13.15 million) savings from gate fee per tonne for the remaining lifespan of the contract until 2035. Suffolk County Council is currentlu considering the proposal.

If approved, it would be the second refinancing of the facility. In 2016, the Council refinanced GBP37.8 million (US$47.8 million) of the facility's construction cost.
