Geronimo Energy and Basin Electric Power Cooperative have executed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for the 128 MW Wild Springs Solar Project.

Wild Springs is a clean solar energy project located in Pennington County, South Dakota, approximately 20 miles east of Rapid City. The facility is anticipated to begin operations in 2022. Using the EPA’s greenhouse gas equivalencies calculator, the project is estimated to offset carbon dioxide emissions by 190,000 metric tons annually.

The project will need a financial investment of US$190 million. Building works are planned to be finalized by end-2022.
