Siemens Gamesa will supply ten 5 MW turbines for a 50 MW Buseco onshore wind farm in Asturias, Spain. This is the first wind farm in Asturias for Capital Energy.
The turbines are of the SG 5.0 – 132 model with a 132-meter diameter and a hub height of 84 meters. They will be able to supply 129,000 MWh of energy per year, which is equivalent to the consumption of almost 54,000 homes. In addition, the transition to clean energy will avoid the annual emission into the atmosphere of more than 51,600 tons of CO2.
The development of the project requires an investment of EUR51 million (US$61.09 million). Capital Energy expects to start operating the wind plant in mid-2022.
