The Solar Energy Corporation of India’s (SECI’s) has ended its 1.2 GW inter-state transmission system-connected hybrid solar-wind tender under the Tranche-II.
India’s Adani Green Energy has submitted the lowest bid to install 600 MW of ISTS capacity at INR2.69 (US$0.0387) per kWh. ReNEw Power, on the other hand, secured 120 MW after launching a bid of INR 2.70 (US$0.0389) per kWh. The company bid for 300 MW of capacity but was awarded only 120 MW.
In February 2019, SECI has issued the tender for the development of 1.2 GW solar-wind hybrid power projects under tranche-II with a fixed rate of INR2.7 (US$0.0389) per kWh as the ceiling tariff at a build-own-operate (BOO) basis. Successful projects have to be commissioned 18 months after the signing of a power purchase agreement (PPA). The tender had been undersubscribed by 300 MW as bidders stayed away from the tender because of the aggressive tariff cap.
