ScottishPower Renewables has completed construction of a new onshore wind farm project in the Scottish Highlands, built specifically to support the green energy needs of supermarket giant, Tesco.
The 30 MW, 15 turbine Halsary windfarm in Caithness generates enough clean energy for the equivalent of almost 20,000 homes and will help power Tesco’s stores and operations across the country and bring more green energy onto the grid.
The project was developed as part of a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), making it the first ScottishPower windfarm to be built without a government support scheme.
