Sasol and Air Liquide have launched a Request for Proposal (RFP) inviting bidders to participate in the supply of renewable energy to Sasol’s South African operations. As a result of the collaborative decarbonization approach, both companies will now jointly procure 900MW of renewable energy by 2030, with an end state allocation of 500MW to Sasol and 400MW to Air Liquide.
The transaction will represent the largest renewable energy procurement deal from the private sector in South Africa. The selected partner will supply energy as Independent Power Producer (IPP), in terms of the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). The first round of the program prefers Wind and Solar Photovoltaic (PV) technologies.
The deadline to submit the proposal is April 23, 2021. You can find more information about this RFP on our business opportunity page here.
