Renova has entered into an agreement with Veolia to acquire an additional stake in the 75 MW biomass power generation project in Fukuoka prefecture, Japan.
The agreement was sealed with Veolia Japan and involves a 10% stake with one of Renova's co-sponsor in the project. Once the deal is closed, Renova will hold a total of 53.7% stakes in the biomass power plant.
The facility is built in Kanda-machi, Miyako-gun, and uses, in part, thinned wood as a fuel source. It uses SHI's circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boiler technology that burns a wide range of fuels.
