PTT Exploration & Production Plc has announced its plans to build a Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) facility at the Arthit offshore gas field in Thailand.
The project comes as part of the company´s attempt to contribute to Thailand's objective of lowering carbon emissions. The PTTEP has recently completed a feasibility study for the pioneer CCS project at Arthit gas field that covers the preliminary assessment of carbon storage capacity of chosen geological storage formations, as well as a conceptual development plan. The project is now undergoing preliminary front-end engineering and design (Pre-FEED) research, with CCS operations planned to begin in 2026.
