Philippines' Meralco launches tender for 850 MW renewable energy projects

The privately-owned electric utility Manila Electric Company (Meralco) has launched a request for expression of interest (RFEOI) for the development of renewable energy projects with a total generating capacity of 850 MW in the Philippines. 

Meralco is seeking proposals to build about 600 MW of capacity that can be operational by February 2026 and another 250 MW that must begin commercial operation by February 2027. 

The winning bid will be awarded a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA).
