The Austria-based construction specialist and deck equipment manufacturer Palfinger Marine has been selected to provide cranes that will be used for the development of the 500 MW Fecamp offshore wind project off the coast of Normandy in France.
Palfinger will deliver 71 fixed boom cranes that will be used to lift equipment from the supply vessel to the laydown area of the transition deck where the wind turbines will be installed. The cranes will remain in place for the routine inspection and service jobs in the wind turbines. Palfinger is also set to deliver two telescopic boom cranes.
The Fecamp offshore wind farm is being built by the consortium consists of EDF Renewables, Enbridge Inc, and Wpd. Siemens Gamesa provides the wind turbines. The project is expected to be operational by 2023.
