Germany’s Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) has granted the planning approval to Ørsted for the 242 MW Gode Wind 3 offshore wind farm project in the German North Sea.
The wind farm will be developed about 32 km from the island of Norderney in Cluster 3 within the German North Sea exclusive economic zone (EEZ). Siemens Gamesa will supply 23 SG 11.0-200 DD offshore wind turbines with a nominal output of 11 MW and a rotor diameter of 200 meters.
The project is expected to be operational in 2024. The construction of the Gode Wind 3 wind farm is expected to be carried out simultaneously with the 900 MW Borkum Riffgrund 3 wind project, whose approval is pending. The final investment decision (FID) for both projects is yet to be closed.
