The UK's Office of Gas and Electricity Markets (Ofgem) has launched an offshore transmission owner tender process for the transmission assets related to Seegreen Phase 1 project in Scotland.
The energy regulator runs tenders to own and operate connections to offshore wind farms to cut costs for consumers. This will be the ninth tender round it has conducted under its offshore transmission owner (OFTO) regime, which has so far secured owners and operators for 23 offshore wind farm connections.
The OFTO assets to be tendered include offshore and onshore substations and cables connecting the wind farm to the mainland near Carnoustie in Angus.
