The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) has disclosed that it has attracted a number of applications for the launched tender for the development of the Hollandse Kust Noord offshore wind project located in the North Sea.
The government agency is set to assess the applications and is expected to announce the winner of the tender in 13 weeks. The project will have at least 700 MW in generating capacity which accounts for approximately 2.5% of the total current electricity consumption in the Netherlands.
The joint venture company, CrossWind, of Dutch utility Eneco and Royal Dutch Shell Plc has submitted a bid for the project. The project is set to be developed in about 8 km off the Dutch coast near the town of Egmond aan Zee.
