Negotiations on the development of the 200 MW offshore wind project in Caspian Sea is now underway. Under the State Agency for Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources, Azeralternativenergy LLC, communicates with foreign investors to finance the projects for wind farms. Arab countries, China and Canada showed interest in the project.

The feasibility study of the project was already carried out. The project at sea will extend from Pirallahi to Chilov Island. The realization of the project can greatly benefit the consumers in the Absheron peninsula with stable electricity source.
