Nala Renewables starts construction of 25 MW/100 MWh battery energy storage system in Balen

Nala Renewables, a joint venture of global investment manager IFM Investors and Trafigura Group Pte Ltd, has started the construction of its 25 MW/100 MWh battery energy storage system project located in Balen, Belgium.

The project represents about EUR30 million (US$36.51 million) of investment of which EUR1 million (US$1.11 million) will be contributed by the government through its Strategic Ecology Support funding.

The plant is expected to be operational by 2022.
