Myanmar release NTP for Deedoke hydropower project development

The Government of Myanmar through its Ministry of Electricity and Energy (MOEE) has released a Notice to Proceed (NTP) for the development of the 56 MW Deedoke hydropower project. The facility is located in Myitnge River about 30km southeast Mandalay, in Myanmar.

The Deedoke project is a consortium of Kansai Electric Power Co and MOOE, together with its partner Andritz Hydro and Shwe Taung Group. The output of the project will be sold to Electric Power Generation Enterprise (EPGE).

Kansai, together with the consortium partners, will continue negotiations towards the establishment of a special purpose company for construction, operation, and maintenance of the project. 

The construction of the project is expected to start in 2019 and the operation to start in 2022.
