MoU signed for USD7 billion Hydrogen project in Thailand

ACWA Power, PTT Public Company Limited (PTT), Thailand’s national integrated energy company and Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) have signed a Memorandum of understanding (MoU) to explore green hydrogen and derivatives projects in Thailand.

The MoU intends to initiate the sustainability-focused collaboration. The three parties will plan to establish large-scale, renewable-powered green hydrogen and derivatives production facilities in Thailand for local energy consumption and global market export purposes.

The US$7 billion facilities will have a capacity to produce 225,000 tons of hydrogen equivalent to around 1.2 million tons of green ammonia per year.

The trio will now conduct an investment feasibility study for proposed green hydrogen project.
