After being rejected by Missouri state regulators, the Missouri Supreme Court has ruled in favor of the Grain Belt Express wind transmission project, sending the proposal back for reconsideration.
The Missouri Public Service Commission previously determined that the Grain Belt Express is in the State’s best interest because it would save Missourians more than $10 million annually on their electric bills, create thousands of jobs, and provide millions in taxes to local communities into perpetuity.
The Grain Belt Express Clean Line is an approximately 780-mile overhead, direct current transmission line that will deliver wind energy from western Kansas to utilities and customers in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and neighboring states.
