Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Poland has signed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) for a 45.1 MW wind farm located near its new manufacturing site in Jawor, south-west Poland.

The manufacturing site will produce four-cylinder engines for Mercedes-Benz cars. This is the first time that the automaker will power an engine plant using electricity from renewable energy sources only.

The Taczalin wind farm, comprised of 22 wind turbines, was commissioned in late 2013. It was developed and is operated by VSB Group.
