The 60.5 MW Kennedy Energy Park which consists of wind, solar, and energy storage projects has been connected to the grid in Northern Queensland.
The energy park consists of 43.2 MW of wind, 15 MW of solar and 2 MW/4 MWh of Tesla battery storage. Its construction has been completed in 2018, but the connection to the grid was delayed because of the changes in the generation performance standards.
The Park is expected to be commissioned once the network operator completes background power quality tests. Initially, the project will supply power to the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) under a 5 MW export limit until the project is registered as a generator in September.
