JLEN completes purchase of Biogas Meden AD project from BayWa r.e.

John Laing Environmental Assets Group (JLEN) has completed the acquisition of Biogas Meden anaerobic digestion (AD) plant from BayWa r.e.Renewable Energy for a total consideration of GBP16.2 million (US$20.8 million). 

The facility, located to the southeast of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, UK.operates with a thermal capacity of around 5 MWth and a 0.4 MW combined heat and power (CHP) engine. It predominantly produces biomethane to be injected to the national gas grid. It has been put into operation in March 2016.

The project is accredited under the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) and Feed-in-Tariff (FiT) schemes.
