The consortium of companies led by Jinko Power Technology Co. has secured the winning bid to develop a 300 MW solar photovoltaic project in Saudi Arabia.
The Saad Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Independent Power Project (IPP) is part of the Category B projects under the third round of the Kingdom's National Renewable Energy Programme (NREP). Jinko Power placed an LCOE (Levelised Cost of Energy) tariff that is equivalent to US$0.0148 per kWh.
The project will be built in the desert area of Saad, about 85 km east of Riyadh, and will represent about US$209 million of investment. Once operational, it can generate up to 876 million kWh of energy per year. Other members of the consortium are Jinko Power Middle East Holding Co and Jinko Power Dhafra Holding Co.
