JERA Co Inc and its partners have started the operation of the 128 MW Formosa 1 offshore wind farm located in Taiwan.
The wind project, built off the coast of Miaoli County, consists of 22 turbines that can generate energy for the consumption of about 128,000 homes. The 8-MW Phase I was switched on in April 2017.
Formosa 1 project is a partnership between JERA, which holds a 32.5% stake in the plant, Ørsted A/S (35%), Macquarie Group Ltd (25%), and Swancor Holding Co Ltd (7.5%).
