RGREEN INVEST has reached the third closing of its INFRAGREEN IV fund with a total commitment of EUR480 million (US$560.49 million) and the fund is on the verge of reaching its size target of EUR500 million (US$582 million).
RGREEN INVEST aims to continue raising funds until the end of the subscription period (March 2021) to reach the maximum regulatory amount ( hard cap ) of EUR650 million (US$727.01 million). The objective: to continue to finance and support numerous projects across Europe.
To date, more than EUR150 million (US$174.65 million) from the INFRAGREEN IV fund have been invested and committed in European infrastructure projects, and in particular in France, making it possible to reduce CO2 emissions.
The EIB, which is the Bank of the European Union (EU), has invested EUR75 million (US$87.32 million) in the INFRAGREEN IV fund. This investment fully meets the priorities for action of the EIB, which supports the transition to a low-carbon economy, respectful of the environment, and capable of resisting climate change. Today, it is the world's leading multilateral donor in the energy transition.
The EIB had already invested EUR50 million (US$58 million) when the INFRAGREEN III fund was launched, which closed in December 2018 above its capital raising targets, for an amount of EUR307 million (US$357.4 million).
INFRAGREEN IV, launched in December 2019, invests in equity and quasi-equity in infrastructure projects linked to the energy and climate transition. These greenfield and brownfield projects are located and operate primarily in the European Economic Area. The INFRAGREEN IV fund is labeled “Greenfin Label France Finance Verte” .
