Idemitsu Renewables, Sonoma Clean Power sign PPA for 84 MWp solar PV with 152 MWh BESS project in California

Idemitsu Renewables has signed a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Sonoma Clean Power Authority, an electricity provider for Sonoma and Mendocino counties in California, USA. As part of the agreement, Idemitsu Renewables will provide Sonoma Clean Power with renewable energy, storage capacity, and other related aspects from its 84 MW Azalea solar and 152 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) development in Kern County.

Expected to begin commercial operation in 2025, the project will develop a cleaner energy future, reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Sonoma Clean Power has been a crucial figure in promoting renewable energy solutions in California through its pioneering Community Choice Aggregation model. The partnership with Idemitsu Renewables emphasizes the necessity for a sustainable future that benefits everyone involved while simultaneously preserving our planet.
