Brazilian renewable energy developer Ibitu Energia has started the construction of its 1-GW solar photovoltaic power complex located in the state of Piaui in Brazil.
With a total cost of BRL4 billion (US$728.92 million), the Caldeirao Grande 2 project will be developed in three phases. It will consist of up to 2.5 million solar panels, which will be installed in about 800 hectares of area in the municipality of Caldeirao Grande.
The first phase represents an initial investment of BRL1 billion (US$182.47 million).
