Iberdrola has started the commercial operation of the 23 MW El Pradillo wind farm located between the Zaragoza towns of Frescano, Borja and Agón, in Aragón.
The project comprises of six SG 3.4-132 wind turbines, with 3.4 MW power units, and one SG 2.1-114 wind turbine, rated at 2.1 MW. The facility was developed in partnership with Navarre-based credit unit Caja Rural de Navarra.
The energy generated by El Pradillo is sufficient to supply 10,500 homes per year -almost one third the entire population of the city of Teruel- and will avoid the emission of 17,300 tons of CO2 per year.
