Switzerland's ABB is in talks with multiple interested companies including Hitachi, Mitsubishi Electric Corp, and State Grid of China for the sale of its power grid units.
The Swiss engineering group disclosed that the full or partial sale of the division would represent a total investment of about US$10 billion.
The company unit is focused on building transformers, long distance electricity-transmission systems and energy storage units. It logged revenue of roughly US$10 billion in 2017, accounting for about 30% of ABB's annual total.
