The Himachal Pradesh Government in India has alloted Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) Limited to develop the 780 MW Jangi-Thopan-Powari hydroelectric project. The plant is located in Kinnaur, Himachal Pradesh, in the northern part of India.
The government decided to allot the project to SJVN on October 22, 2018. The letter of allotment states a Build, Own, Operate & Transfer (BOOT) basis for a period of 70 years.
SJVN is expected to complete the project within the allowed time, as well as to contribute greatly to the overall development of affected area.
