Heelstone Renewable Energy, a Qualitas Energy company, announced the acquisition of Cypress Pointe Solar, a development-stage solar photovoltaic (PV) project in Texas with a planned installed capacity of approximately 188 MWp.
Located in Sabine County and serving the Southwest Power Pool market, the project is strategically positioned to benefit from anticipated strong growth in regional electricity demand. It also provides significant commercial flexibility, with potential opportunities to supply corporate and industrial users, hyperscalers, utilities and public-sector renewable energy procurement programmes. Azimuth Renewables, a full-service energy infrastructure development company based in St. Louis, Missouri, advanced the project through its early and mid-stage development phases, helping bring Cypress Pointe Solar to its current stage. The project has secured full site control and enjoys strong support from the local community, with commercial operations expected to commence in 2029.
The deal also follows Heelstone’s July 2026 financial close for three solar PV projects totaling 86 MWp, demonstrating continued expansion of its US solar portfolio. Heelstone has developed and/or brought into commercial operation more than 80 solar PV projects totaling over 1.2 GW since its establishment in 2012.
