A consortium led by H2Go Power has been awarded GBP4.3 million (US$5.43 million) to design and develop a 1 MWh modular low-pressure hydrogen storage solution in Orkney Islands, Scotland.

In collaboration with EMEC, Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC), Abbot Risk Consulting (ARC), Autodesk and HSSMI, the Solid Hydrogen at Low pressures (SHyLO) storage system will be deployed and trialed at EMEC's hydrogen production site in Eday.

The SHyLO system will be integrated with the HyAI cloud system and EMEC’s network of hydrogen assets to assess its performance and commercial viability. HyAI 2 project will trial the use of AI software to optimize hydrogen production and storage through the most efficient use of renewable energy.
