Greencoat Renewables has agreed to acquire two Irish wind farms with a combined capacity of 45.2 MW. The two assets - Monaincha and Garranereagh wind projects are acquired for a total consideration of EUR88 million (US$100.66 million).
The 36 MW Monaincha wind farm consists of 15 Nordex N117 wind turbines. The project benefits from the Renewable Energy Feed-In Tariff (REFIT) 2 until September 2029. Meanwhile, the 9.2 MW Garranereagh wind farm consists of four Enercon E82 wind turbines. The project was commissioned in September 2013 and receives benefits from the REFIT 1 tariff until December 2027.
The acquisition, which is reported to be in line with Greencoat’s investment policy, will be funded using Greencoat’s increased Revolving Credit Facility.
