The Government of Tunisia has ratified the power purchase agreement (PPA) for a 100 MW solar project located in Kairouan, Tunisia.

The solar project is expected to produce 223,171 MWh of green energy and offsets more than 113,525 metric tonnes of CO2 emissions on an annual basis. In December 2019, a consortium formed by AMEA Power and TBEA Xinjiang New Energy Co., Ltd. was awarded the contract to develop, own and operate the solar plant.

The construction of the solar farm is expected to begin by the end of this year.
