Green Investment Group (GIG), part of the Macquarie Group, has acquired the rights for the Kattegatt Offshore Wind Farm (Kattegatt) from Agrivind AB under undisclosed terms in Sweden.

Located off the coast of the Falkenberg Municipality, Sweden, the project is anticipated to have an installed capacity of up to 260 MW. The offshore wind farm is currently under the development stage. Once operational, it will produce enough electricity to power the equivalent of around 95,000 homes.

The 260 MW Kattegatt wind project plays a role in the offshore wind market of Sweden as the country has a target to produce 100% of its electricity from renewable energy by 2040. The wind farm is estimated to reduce Swedish CO2 emissions up to 49 kt per year.
