Macquarie Group Ltd unit, Green Investment Group Ltd (GIG), has achieved financial close for its 47 MW Tysvaer wind project in Norway. Tysvær Vindpark AS has also received final approval from the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy (OED) for the construction and operation of the wind power project in Rogaland.

The Rogaland company Risa AS has been selected as a construction contractor and is responsible for the development of roads, the foundations for the wind turbines, and the installation of electrical cables at Tysvær Vindpark. LinjePartner AS will build the high voltage cable from Tysvær Vindpark and out on the central grid.

The development of the project is led by Nordisk Vindkraft, which will enter into contracts with local suppliers for maintenance-related activities. The project will employ 11 Siemens Gamesa turbines, which will produce 150 GWh of renewable energy a year.

Once operational, the facility will supply power to Eramet Porsgrunn, Sauda, and Kvinesdal under an 18-year power purchase agreement (PPA).
