The Floating Energy Allyance (FEA), a partnership of BayWa re, BElicio and BW Ideol, has been awarded the option agreement from the Crown Estate Scotland (CES) to develop a 1 GW floating offshore wind farm project.

The consortium is set to sign an option lease deal by April 2022 after winning the ScotWind leasing round. The project will be implemented in the NE8 area of Scotland, about 75 km to the northeast of Fraserburgh on the Aberdeenshire coast in the UK.

FEA is getting ready to re-engage with key stakeholders to conduct environmental surveys and progress further work on the design.
