The last GE Haliade 160-6MW wind turbine has been installed at the 396 MW Merkur offshore wind project located off the coast of Borkum, Germany, in the North Sea.
The nacelles were produced in Saint-Nazaire in France by GE Renewable Energy, the blades were made in Castellon in Spain by LM Power while the towers were manufactured in Germany and China. Apart from the delivery of turbine components, GE Renewable is also responsible for the servicing of the turbines for up to 10 years.
The turbines were mounted on monopile foundations which were fabricated by Steelwind, EEW and the Windsar/Idesa joint venture. Installations were done by GeoSea using Innovation. Pre-assembly construction were carried out by Eemshaven.
