The Federal Electricity and Water Authority (FEWA) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have launched a tender inviting interested companies to submit expressions of interest (EOI) for the development of a 500-megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant in the emirate of Umm Al Quwain.
The project will be developed using design, build, finance and operate (DBFO) model of the Independent Power Producer (IPP) framework.
The project will be co-owned by the FEWA and the Umm Al Quwain government with 60 percent while the remaining interest is held by the selected developer under a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV).
The project will supply power to FEWA under a secured long-term power purchase agreement (PPA).
The deadline for the submission of interest is on January 23, 2020.
