European Energy has commissioned the largest photovoltaic park ever built in Italy. The solar farm is based in Apulia, near Foggia.
The plant has a total capacity of 103 MW. It is 1,500,000 sq. meters big, which is equivalent to 200 football pitches, and will produce 150,000,000 kWh of green energy per year – enough to cover the electricity consumption of a city with 200,000 inhabitants. The capacity of the project makes it the 17th largest in the world with a single connection point.
The energy plant will save more than 80,000 tons of CO2 emissions per year.
