Ergon Solair Africa Ltd, an affiliate of US-based Ergon Solair PBC, has secured the regulatory permit from the Energy Regulatory Commission of Kenya (EPRA) for the development of a 40 MW solar photovoltaic plant backed with a US$0.075 per kWh feed-in tariff (FiT).
The Kisumu Solar One project will be built in Kisumu County. It will supply the energy produced to the state-owned Kenya Power (KPLC) under a power purchase agreement (PPA).
The project is expected to be operational by December 2023.
