Engro Energy seeks generation license for 200 MW of solar projects in Pakistan

Engro Energy Limited has applied to Pakistan's National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) for a generation license for four 50 MW solar farms to be located in Balochitan province.

The four solar power plants of 50 MW each, namely Kuchlak-I, Kuchlak-II, Kuchlak-III and Kuchlak-IV have a total investment of US$144 million. The facilities are expected to achieve commercial operation date (COD) by June 2020.

The project financing would be based on a debt to equity ratio of 80:20.
