Engie SA has won three projects in the Pays de-la-Loire region as part of France's solar invitations to tender. These projects are located in Montoir de Bretagne, in Loire-Atlantique, on the land of Nantes Saint-Nazaire Port.
Three ground-based solar power plants will be located on approximately 15 hectares of land belonging to Nantes Saint-Nazaire Port, in the immediate vicinity of the LNG terminal of Montoir-de-Bretagne. Totaling a power of 12.6 MWp (two installations of 5 MWp and one of 2.6 MWp), they will inject, from the first half of 2022, their first clean and renewable kilowatt-hours on the national electricity grid and will provide the equivalent of the annual consumption of 7,700 people.
One of these projects, with a capacity of 5 MWp, incorporates a winning technological innovation of the government’s innovative solar tender. It is a forecasting system of daily solar irradiation and power generation of the power plant by learning based on neural networks.
The construction of these three power plants represents an investment of around EUR10 million (US$11.8 million) in all by ENGIE Green.
