The Dunkirk offshore wind farm will deliver electricity to the French national grid at a strike price of EUR 44/MWh (US$49.35/MWh), revealed by Commission de régulation de l'énergie (CRE).
The Eoliennes en mer de Dunkerque (EMD) consortium of EDF Renouvelables, innogy, and Enbridge was selected to construct and operate the 600 MW Dunkirk offshore wind farm that will be built on a 50 sq. km. area some 11.4 kilometers off the coast of Dunkirk and comprises up to 46 wind turbines. The commissioning of the wind farm is expected to be done in 2022.
The developers plan on using wind turbines with an individual capacity of between 12 MW and 13 MW.
The strike price for this tender was initially expected to be below EUR 70/MWh (US$78.51/MWh).
