The Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) has launched an international tender inviting local and international developers to design, finance, build, own, and operate a 500 MW solar power project in the West Nile region of Egypt, with pre-qualification submissions due by May 11, 2026.
This tender invites both local and global renewable energy developers to participate in designing, financing, constructing, owning, and operating the solar plant. The project is structured under a Build-Own-Operate (BOO) model, which means that the successful developer will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of the plant—from financing and construction through long-term operation and maintenance. Once operational, the electricity generated is expected to be sold to EETC under a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), ensuring a steady revenue stream for the developer and contributing clean power to Egypt’s grid.
