Eesti Energia has secured EUR584,950 (US$577,645) in state funding from Enterprise Estonia and KredEx for the development of the 225 MW pumped hydroelectric power plant project located in Ida-Virumaa, Estonia.
The project is currently under preliminary assessment for the environmental effect which is expected to be completed by Q1 of 2023. The preliminary design is expected to be done by the of the same year with a target investment decision to be made in the first half of 2024.
Eesti Energia targets to start the commercial operation of the plant in 2026.
