The developer of a 5 MW biogas power plant project in Belarus, UAB Modus Group, is seeking a US$18.4 million financing from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

The project, consists of three biogas plants, is expected to result in (i) CO2 emissions savings of approx. 15,200 tonnes annually and (ii) waste minimisation and further greenhouse emissions avoidance from methane fugitive emissions that would be the result of annual waste degradation.

The loan financing from EBRD accounts for the majority of the project's costs of US$26.3 million.
